“Jane the Virgin” star, Gina Rodriguez, has developed two series for CBS and the CW. The CBS series titled “Have Mercy” is about a Latina doctor who cannot practice medicine when she immigrates to Miami and decides to open a makeshift clinic out of her apartment. The second show titled “Illegal”, is based on the real life story of Rafael Agustin. Augustin is co-producing the series and is a writer for Rodriguez on “Jane the Virgin”. I have had the opportunity to meet both Rodriguez, who serves on the board of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and Agustin. They are great people who I trust will represent the Latino community well in their endeavors.
